About Cats

The Charlottesville Area Trail Runners (CATs) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by Christian Dahlhausen, Drew Kreuger, and David Smith, a few local runners who were passionate about trail running. Over the years, the club has grown to include hundreds of members from the Charlottesville area. Today, we offer a variety of events and programs for runners of all abilities, from beginner to experienced.

To encourage and facilitate trail running in and around Charlottesville, to sponsor the preservation, discovery, and creation of trails, and to promote the healthful, competitive, and social aspects of trail and ultra running.
